Modified 1962 Airstream Land Yacht

This 1962 Airstream Land Yacht is a single-axle 24′ travel trailer that was acquired by the current owner approximately two decades ago. It was subsequently modified with residential-style plumbing fixtures, and the forward furnishings were removed. Amenities include a kitchenette, bathroom, and two sofas that double as beds. Air conditioning has been added, and the trailer is further equipped with retractable awnings, jalousie windows, a refrigerator, parquet floors, a manual tongue jack, 15” steel wheels, and drum brakes. This Airstream is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner at no reserve with a clean Michigan title.

The aluminum-bodied trailer features a single door, retractable awnings, hinged and jalousie windows, storage lockers, and a manual tongue jack. The seller states that the trailer has been used as a seasonal stationary dwelling and is not currently road worthy. Dents and blemishes around the trailer can be viewed in the image gallery below. The bulk of the photos in the gallery were taken in 2023.

White-finished 15” steel wheels wear polished covers and are mounted with 225/75 Carlisle Sport Trail tires. Corrosion is visible on the spare wheel, which is wrapped in a non-matching tire. The trailer is equipped with drum brakes.

The interior walls have been refinished in yellow, and green roller blinds have been installed. Overhead cabinets are equipped with sliding doors, and a roof-mounted air conditioner has been added. The kitchenette features a sink, refrigerator, and stainless-steel countertops. Furnishings have been removed from the forward portion of the trailer, and damage to the parquet flooring is shown in the image gallery.

Two inward-facing sofas can serve as separate beds or a single bed using a removable center support panel. Storage drawers are located below the cushions.

The bathroom is located at the back of the trailer and houses a hard-mounted porcelain toilet, washbasin, and mirrored cabinet. A closet is located behind an accordion-style divider.

The plumbing and drainage systems have been converted to mount rigidly to water supply and sewage fixtures. The onboard water heater can operate using either propane or a household electrical supply. Dents and damage on the underside panels can be viewed in the gallery.
