This 1963 Porsche 217 Standard Diesel tractor previously resided in Holland and was reportedly used to groom golf course sand traps. It was imported for the seller by Stonegate Auto Sales in 2017. The modular two-cylinder diesel engine shares common heads and bores with the Porsche Junior and sends power to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and rear portal axles. Accessories include a Bosch hydraulic hitch system and dual PTO outputs, as well as a sprung seat for the operator and a padded seat on the left rear fender. Under current ownership the tractor has received an oil change. Now in Georgia, this Standard Diesel is offered with a Georgia bill of sale.
The tractor is finished in red with cream accents and retains factory hood badging. The Bosch-designed hitch system offers similar functionality to the Ferguson-designed system used on other contemporary tractors.
The tractor is equipped with both head and taillamps, and a padded seat is present atop the left rear fender. The white painted steel wheels are mounted with newer tires per the seller.
The operator is provided with a sprung steel seat with cream-colored uppers and red lower surfaces with yellow Porsche Diesel script. Controls are present for the manual transmission, individual rear wheel brakes, and hydraulic accessory units. The sole instrument is a VDO hour meter which shows 10,815 hours, approximately 20 of which were added by the current owner.
The two-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine shares cylinder heads and bores with the single-cylinder unit used in the Porsche Junior. Factory-rated output was 25 horsepower, which is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and a portal axle. The seller reports that the last service was an oil and filter change performed last year.
The data tag is shown above and denotes the model, serial number, and capacities of the tractor.
