1962 Porsche-Diesel 238 Standard Star Tractor

This 1962 Porsche-Diesel 238 Standard Star tractor reportedly resided in Germany and the Netherlands before being imported to the US by the selling dealer in 2020. According to the selling dealer, the tractor was mechanically and cosmetically refurbished in the Netherlands in 2018, and it is finished in red with black accents and cream wheels. Power is provided by an inline-twin diesel with Bosch fuel injection paired with a dual-range four-speed gearbox. Equipment includes headlights and taillights, a rear power take-off, a hydraulically actuated three-point rear hitch, and a steel onboard storage box. This Porsche-Diesel 238 tractor is now offered by the selling dealer in Georgia with German and Dutch documents and a bill of sale.

The exterior of this example was refinished in red during the 2018 refurbishment work completed in the Netherlands. The headlight buckets are finished in black, and the cream-painted steel wheels wear Mitas tires up front and AgriTrac tires out back.

Equipment includes rear fenders with covered taillights, partial front fenders, and a suitcase-style muffler with a red mesh cover.

A color-matched steel seat is fitted, and it is surrounded by hand controls for the transmission, hand throttle, power take-off, and hydraulic hitch. A steel storage compartment is mounted to the left of the driver’s seat, and an additional padded seat with red upholstery and yellow embroidery is included in the sale.

The metal dash houses an hour meter and the ignition switch assembly along with various indicator lights. The tractor shows 373 hours, though true hours are unknown.

The two-cylinder diesel engine features Bosch mechanical fuel injection and transfers power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox with high and low range, providing a total of eight forward speeds and two reverse speeds.

The 238-series tractor featured a hydraulic power lift system for the three-point rear hitch. Additional equipment includes a rear power take-off and a trailer lighting connector.
