1960 Porsche-Diesel Super L 318 Tractor

This 1960 Porsche-Diesel Super L 318 tractor is said to have received a cosmetic refurbishment under prior ownership before being acquired by the current owner in 2022. The tractor is finished in red with beige wheels and is powered by an air-cooled 2,467cc three-cylinder diesel paired with a dual-range four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes headlights, taillights, a rear work light, front and rear power take-off shafts, and a three-point hitch. Service under current ownership reportedly involved replacing the tires. This Porsche-Diesel Super tractor is offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in Illinois with a certificate of authenticity, manufacturer’s literature, and a bill of sale.

The Porsche-Diesel Super L 318 was introduced in the early 1960s to replace the 308, and approximately 400 units were produced. The body and chassis of this example were reportedly refinished in red under prior ownership, and equipment includes a rear-hinged hood, headlights and taillights, a rear work light, a black exhaust stack, a trailer wire harness connection, and Porsche-Diesel badging.

Beige-painted steel wheels are accented by red hubs and wear BFGoodrich front and Continental rear agricultural tires that are said to have been installed under current ownership. Stopping power is from independent rear drum brakes.

The steel operator’s seat and rear bench wear red vinyl covers with yellow piping and Porsche-Diesel embroidery. Controls consist of a throttle, a transmission shifter and range selector, a power take-off lever, and brake pedals.

The air-cooled 2,467cc three-cylinder diesel is equipped with Bosch mechanical fuel injection, and power is sent to the rear wheels via a dual-range four-speed manual transmission.

The tractor is equipped with a hydraulically actuated three-point hitch, a draw bar, a ball hitch, and front and rear power take-off shafts.
