This 1959 Porsche-Diesel Junior 108L is said to have been restored about 15 years ago and was acquired by the seller in 2012. Approximately 1,000 Porsche tractors are believed to have been sold in the US of the 125k produced worldwide between 1956 and 1963. As the smallest of four offerings, the 108L was powered by an air-cooled single-cylinder diesel displacing 822cc and shifting through a dual-range 3-speed manual transmission. Other features include rear- and mid-mounted power take-offs along with exterior lighting. This example shows just over 900 operating hours and is offered out of Eighty Four, Pennsylvania on a bill of sale.
The Junior featured a rear-hinged hood along with small front grilles, headlights, and taillights. This example was refinished in its current red during the restoration and has reportedly been stored in a climate-controlled garage and started occasionally during the seller’s ownership.
An updated exhaust manifold is present and both the rear- and mid-mounted PTO shafts remain functional according to the seller. The cream-colored seat matches the steel wheels, which wear Firestone tires up front.
A MotoMeter hour gauge is mounted to the spartan dashboard and indicates just over 900 hours of use prior to the restoration. A black shift knob with a colored Porsche crest is shown in the gallery below.
Power comes from an air-cooled single-cylinder 822cc diesel engine that originally produced 14 horsepower at 2250 RPM and is paired with a dual-range 3-speed manual transmission. Porsche tractors of this era utilized a hydraulic coupling between the engine and transmission for smoother engagement.
