1952 John Deere M

This 1952 John Deere M is a utility tractor that was refurbished prior to the seller’s acquisition in 2024. It is finished in green with yellow wheels, and power is from a gasoline-fueled 101ci twin paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The tractor is equipped with rear half-fenders, headlights, and a rear work light in addition to a belt pulley, a rear power take-off, and a hydraulically lifted hitch assembly. This John Deere M is now offered at no reserve in Idaho with a bill of sale.

The John Deere M-series tractors were introduced in 1947 and were produced in several variants through 1952. The body and running gear of this utility model were repainted green under prior ownership. Details include wraparound horizontal grille bars, headlights, a rear work light, a black exhaust stack, rear half fenders, and John Deere badging. Galley photos show chips in the paint and imperfections in the decals.

This is a relist after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in January of 2025 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner’s participation on BaT has been restricted and their buyer’s fee was not refunded. 

Yellow-finished steel wheels wear 6.00-16″ Harvest King front and 13.6-26″ Firestone agricultural tires. Stopping power is from independent rear drum brakes, and the tractor is equipped with a utility-style front axle.

The operator’s station houses a green steel seat with yellow vinyl cushions. Controls include a hand throttle, a clutch lever, and twin pedals for the individual rear brakes. The shift lever is mounted on top of the transmission case.

The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a body-color dash panel that houses gauges for coolant temperature and amperage. An oil pressure gauge is mounted forward on the right side of the engine. The tractor is not equipped with an hour meter, therefore total operating hours are unknown.

The gasoline-fueled 101ci twin sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The fuel tank and fuel system were cleaned under current ownership.

The tractor is equipped with a rear power take-off shaft, a belt pulley, and a hydraulically lifted rear hitch assembly.
