This 1951 Ford 8N Tractor was purchased by the seller in 2004 and was refurbished in 2006 with work including a repaint in gray and red as well as a mechanical overhaul. The seller sold the tractor in 2015 and reacquired it in 2023. Power is provided by a 120ci inline-four linked to a four-speed manual transmission, and features include a rear power take-off, a rear draw bar, and headlights. This Ford tractor is now offered at no reserve in Ontario, Canada, with service records, refurbishment photos, and a bill of sale.
The engine cover and fenders were reportedly refinished in gray with red Ford script in 2006, while the frame, drivetrain, and suspension have been repainted red. Features include dual headlights, rear half fenders, side steps, and a rear draw bar.
Gray-painted wheels are accented by red hubs and are mounted with Goodyear three-rib front and Firestone Field & Road rear tires. Stopping power is provided by independent rear drum brakes.
The spring-suspended operator’s seat wears a red cover that displays the Ford script. Controls consist of a hand throttle behind the steering wheel, a clutch pedal on the left, and twin brake levers on the right. The shift lever sits next to the starter button atop the transmission case.
The black three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a proofmeter, an ammeter, and an oil pressure gauge. A choke control is located below the oil pressure gauge, and a keyed ignition switch is positioned under the left side of the cowl. The hour meter shows 5,565 hours of runtime, though the seller notes the proofmeter reads high.
The gasoline-powered 120ci side-valve inline-four was factory rated at 92 lb-ft of torque at 1,500 rpm, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The seller states that the cylinder head and head gasket were replaced during the refurbishment, and an oil leak is noted.
The tractor is equipped with a rear power take-off and a hydraulically lifted three-point draw-bar hitch assembly.
Photos showing the tractor during various stages of the refurbishment can be seen in the gallery below.
