This 1950 Ford 8N tractor was purchased new by the seller’s grandfather and inherited by the seller in 1996. Restoration work totaling over $22k was completed by Arthurs Tractors in Indiana County, Pennsylvania in June 2018 and included a repaint in red and gray, rebuilding the 120ci inline-four and four-speed manual transmission, replacing the rear power take-off shaft, mounting a set of American Tractor tires, and more as described below. This 8N tractor is now offered at no reserve in Delaware with an owner’s manual, refurbishment records, a tool kit, two Ford Tractor hats, and a bill of sale.
The engine cover and fenders were repainted gray and feature red Ford script, while the frame, drivetrain, suspension, and wheel hubs were refinished in red. The tractor is equipped with dual headlights, a single taillight, a rear spotlight, and accessory attachment points. The rear power take-off shaft and running boards are replacements.
The six-bolt front and eight-bolt rear wheels are finished in gray and the American Tractor tires and tubes were replaced during the work in 2018. The rear axle housing and steering pieces were also replaced.
A black spring-mounted seat provides seating for one and controls consist of a hand throttle, a foot-operated clutch, and twin levers for the independent brakes. The shift lever sits next to the starter pedal atop the transmission case.
A black three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of an ammeter and an oil pressure gauge. The seller states approximately five operating hours have been added since the work was completed in 2018, and total operating hours and chassis mileage are unknown.
The 120ci side-valve inline-four was rebuilt and features a cloth-wrapped main wiring harness and a replacement exhaust manifold that is said to have been ceramic coated. Factory-rated output was at 92 lb-ft of torque at 1,500 rpm which is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Additional work performed in 2018 included replacing the crankshaft pulley, battery box, throttle, transmission housing, and more as detailed in the records below.
An owner’s manual located inside a dealer envelope is included in the sale along with a tool kit and two Ford Tractor hats.
