This 1950 Ford 8N tractor was purchased in 1980 by the seller’s grandfather and acquired by the seller circa 2015. A subsequent refurbishment included disassembling the tractor, overhauling the 120ci inline-four and the brakes, repainting the engine cover, fenders, and wheels in gray, refinishing the drivetrain components in red, and replacing the tires. Features include a rear power take-off, a three-point hitch, headlights, and a single taillight. This 8N tractor is now offered in Wisconsin with an owner’s manual, shop manuals, refurbishment records, and a bill of sale.
The engine cover and fenders were repainted gray and feature the Ford script logo, while the frame, drivetrain, suspension, and wheel hubs were refinished in red. The tractor is equipped with dual headlights, a single taillight, a rear spotlight, a rear power take-off, accessory attachment points, running boards, and a Ford badge above the grille.
The six-bolt front and eight-bolt rear wheels are finished in gray and are wrapped in Firestone tires that are said to have been installed during the refurbishment. The independent rear brakes were also overhauled at that time.
The steel seat is mounted on a single flat spring and features four vents and three drains. Controls consist of a hand throttle behind the steering wheel, a clutch pedal on the left, and twin brake levers on the right. The shift lever and starter button are mounted on top of the transmission case.
The black three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of an ammeter and an oil pressure gauge. A choke knob is located below the oil pressure gauge, and a fuel-cut off switch is positioned under the left side of the cowl. Total operating hours and chassis mileage are unknown.
The gasoline-powered 120ci side-valve inline-four was overhauled during the refurbishment and was factory rated at 92 lb-ft of torque at 1,500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. A video presented in the gallery shows the refurbishment process.
A hydraulically lifted three-point hitch assembly is mounted at the rear.
Manufacturer’s literature and shop manuals are included in the sale.
