This 1949 Allis-Chalmers Model C tractor was purchased by the seller in 2016, reportedly from the family of its original owner, and subsequently refurbished, with work completing in 2018. The tractor is finished in orange with matching wheels, and power comes from a rebuilt 2.1-liter inline-four paired with a three-speed non-synchronized manual transmission. Equipment includes headlights, a power take-off, a 12-volt electrical system, and a bench trimmed in black vinyl. This Allis-Chalmers is now offered at no reserve in Ohio on a bill of sale.
Approximately 84k examples of the Model C were manufactured from 1940 to 1949. This example was fitted with reproduction fenders before a repaint in orange was performed during the 2010s refurbishment. Features include black headlight buckets, a chrome radiator cap, and a power take-off from the transmission.
The replacement rear wheels were installed during the refurbishment and are mounted with Carlisle Farm Specialist 11.2-24 bias-ply tires. New 19″ Carlisle Farm Specialist bias-ply tires were also installed up front. Braking is handled by rear drums.
The bench seat is trimmed in black vinyl and features a body-color backrest. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts hand and foot controls. Total runtime is unknown.
The 2.1-liter inline-four was rebuilt during the 2010s refurbishment with new sleeves, pistons, rings, main and rod bearings, valves, intake and exhaust manifolds, and a water pump. A new radiator was also installed, the oil pump was rebuilt with new vanes and springs, and a 12-volt electrical system is fitted.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed non-synchronized manual transmission that was rebuilt during the refurbishment with new bearings and bushings. A new clutch was also installed.
A collection of photos taken during the refurbishment can be seen below.
