1948 Spartan Manor Travel Trailer

This 1948 Spartan Manor is a 25’ single-axle travel trailer that received a multi-year refurbishment prior to the seller’s acquisition in 2021. The project involved refurbishing the aluminum exterior as well as replacing the axle, front windows, flooring, electrical system, plumbing, cabinets, and wood paneling. The floor plan features a forward lounge, a bathroom, a rear bedroom, a kitchenette, and a dinette. Amenities include window shades and curtains, a stainless steel sink, a cooktop, a refrigerator, ceiling vents, and a Pioneer stereo. Mechanical equipment consists of shore connections, a freshwater tank, waste tanks, dual propane tanks, and a manual tongue jack. This Spartan Manor is offered with an owner’s manual, interior decor, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Spartan travel trailers were produced by the Spartan Aircraft Company of Tulsa, Oklahoma, between 1945 and 1962, and their designs were influenced by aircraft construction techniques. The aluminum exterior of this example was refurbished under prior ownership, and the front windows were replaced at that time. Details include nine windows, a camp-side entry door with a porthole window, a boarding step, and a street-side bedroom door. The trailer measures approximately 25′ long and is equipped with dual tongue-mounted propane tanks, shore connections for power and water, a freshwater tank, and wastewater tanks. The right-rear trim is damaged, and the seller notes dings in the body panels. The aluminum table and chairs pictured in the gallery are not included in the sale.

The single-axle chassis rolls on steel wheels with polished hub caps, and stopping power is provided by electrically actuated drum brakes. The axle was replaced under prior ownership.

The interior is outfitted with a forward lounge area, a central kitchenette, a dinette, a bathroom, and a rear bedroom. Work performed under prior ownership involved replacing the paneling, cabinetry, flooring, plumbing, and electrical system. The lounge area features panoramic windows and is furnished with a couch and nesting tables. The dinette features bench seating upholstered in blue cloth as well as a folding table that can be configured as a sleeping area. Three manually operated ceiling vents are fitted overhead.

The kitchenette is equipped with a stainless steel sink, a Dometic refrigerator, a Flame King two-burner propane stove, a blender, overhead lighting, a water heater, and 120-volt power outlets. A composite countertop has been fitted, and storage consists of overhead compartments, a pantry, three drawers, and under-counter cabinets. A Pioneer automotive-style CD stereo is housed behind a hinged door along with a system panel for monitoring the holding tanks.

The rear bedroom features a queen mattress, a storage cubby with a hinged cover, an underbed storage compartment, drawers, and three windows with curtains and screens. The bedroom is prewired for stereo speakers, and the seller states that the bed linens and decor are include in the sale. The adjacent wet-bath style bathroom is equipped with a sink, a removable shower hose, a toilet, a vanity, a toiletries cabinet with a mirror, map-style accents on the walls, and a translucent colored window in the door.
