This 1941 Ford 9N tractor was acquired by the seller in 2003 and subsequently refurbished. Work is said to have involved a repaint in gray as well as a mechanical overhaul that included rebuilding the engine and overhauling the brakes. The tractor is powered by a 120ci inline-four linked to a three-speed manual transmission, and features include a front bumper, headlights, a rear power take-off, and a three-point hitch. This 9N tractor is now offered at no reserve in Illinois with a parts catalog, service manuals, and a bill of sale.
The frame, the bodywork, the wheels, and the engine were repainted in gray during the refurbishment. Features include a red-finished front bumper, headlights, and rear half fenders. The seller notes the presence of rust which can been viewed up close in the gallery.
Gray-painted steel wheels wear Firestone tires up front with a mix of 11.2×28 Firestone and PowerMark tires at the rear. Stopping power is provided by independent rear drum brakes that were rebuilt during the refurbishment. Cracks in the tire sidewalls are displayed up close in the gallery.
The spring-suspended operator’s seat wears a padded black vinyl cover that displays the Ford logo in red and white. Controls consist of a hand throttle behind the steering wheel, a clutch pedal, and twin brake levers for the independent rear brakes. The starter button and shift lever are mounted on top of the transmission case.
The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a dash panel that houses headlight and choke controls as well as gauges for coolant temperature, amperage, and oil pressure. The tractor is not equipped with an hour meter, therefore total operating hours are unknown.
The gasoline-powered 120ci side-valve inline-four was factory rated at 16.9 horsepower and 84 lb-ft of torque. Equipment includes an updraft carburetor, an alternator, and an electric starter. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission. The engine was rebuilt and the wiring harness was replaced during the refurbishment. The six-volt battery was replaced in preparation for the sale.
The tractor is equipped with a rear power take-off, a drawbar, and a hydraulically lifted three-point hitch assembly.
A parts catalog, service manuals, instructional VHS cassettes, and other literature are included in the sale.
