V8-Powered 1951 Ford 8N Tractor

This 1951 Ford 8N tractor was refurbished and modified under prior ownership with the installation of a 350ci V8, a four-speed manual transmission, and a revised cooling system as well as a repaint in gray and red. Features include a spring-mounted seat, exhaust headers, side pipes, a rear power take-off shaft, a three-point hitch, and a drawbar. Service in preparation for the sale reportedly involved replacing the battery and overhauling the carburetor. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2023, this modified 8N tractor is now offered at no reserve in Illinois with a bill of sale.

The engine cover and fenders are said to have been repainted gray with red Ford script and decorative pinstriping under prior ownership, while the chassis and running gear have been refinished in red. Features consist of a forward-hinged engine cover, side steps, rear half fenders, V8 badging, and exposed open exhaust headers.

Gray-painted wheels are accented by red hubs and wear 4.00-19 Firestone front and 11.2-28 Cambridge rear agriculture tires. The tractor is equipped with independent rear drum brakes. The front tires show age.

The operator’s station features a spring-suspended seat wearing a tan vinyl cover. Controls consist of a hand throttle behind the steering wheel, a clutch pedal on the left, and twin brake levers on the right. The shift lever and starter button are mounted on top of the transmission case.

The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead a red dash panel that houses a tachometer as well as gauges for amperage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The tractor is not equipped with an hour meter, therefore total operating hours are unknown.
