This cargo trailer was constructed by the seller in 2022 and incorporates the front and rear body sections and fender components from a 1958 MG MGA roadster. The trailer features Elkhart Blue body panels as well as a wood-lined storage compartment. Additional features include an MGA grille, functional head lights and taillights, lockable storage lids, LED interior lights, and 13″ steel wheels. This custom trailer is offered at no reserve with build photos and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name. The total sale amount, including the BaT buyer’s fee, will be donated to the Make-A-Wish foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization helping fulfill the wishes of children with critical illnesses.
The MGA–sourced bodywork is mounted to a painted 2×2″ steel tube frame and painted in Elkhart Blue. Features include a grille, front and rear access panels sealed with weatherstripping, dual taillights, and MG badging. The tongue is fitted with a four-wire trailering harness, and the headlights are mated to a separate wiring loom.
Steel 13″ wheels are wrapped in a set of 175/80 tires and mated to a five-lug hubs and a single Dexter axle said to be rated for 2,000 lbs. The tow bar tube runs the length of the trailer, and the seller states that the receiver is rated for 3,200 lbs.
The interior compartment features a painted floor lined with stained 1/2″ plywood along with LED accent lighting. The seller notes that the exterior underside is finished in black.
Photos showing various stages of the build are presented in the gallery, and several videos documenting the process can be seen on the seller’s YouTube page. Touchup paint, chains, and numerous spares are included in the sale.
Upon completion of the auction, the winning bidder will donate the total sale amount to the charity through the seller’s Make-A-Wish donation page, after which the seller will transfer the title to the winning bidder.
