This 1951 Ford 8N tractor was refurbished under previous ownership, at which time it was fitted with a 239ci flathead V8. It was acquired by the seller in 2010 and is finished in red and gray. Equipment includes a four-speed manual transmission, a 12-volt electrical system, a grille guard, a rear power take-off, and a rear three-point hitch. This flathead-powered 8N is now offered at no reserve in Holbrook, New York, on a bill of sale.
The engine cover and fenders were repainted gray with red Ford script under previous ownership, while the frame, drivetrain, suspension, and wheel hubs were refinished in red. Equipment includes dual headlights, a grille guard, running boards, a rear power take-off, and a three-point hitch with a draw-bar.
The six-bolt front and eight-bolt rear wheels are finished in gray and are mounted with Super-Rib F-2 front tires and 11.2-28 Kelly-Springfield rear rubber. Braking is handled by independent rear units.
The spring-mounted seat is finished in black and is topped with a red-and-white Ford-branded padded cover. Controls consist of a hand throttle behind the steering wheel, a clutch by the left foot, and twin levers for the independent brakes on the right. The shift lever sits next to the starter pedal atop the transmission case.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames an ammeter and gauges for oil pressure and water temperature as well as a “Proofmeter” combined tachometer and speedometer. The hour meter shows seven hours of runtime, and actual chassis mileage and hours are unknown.
The 239ci flathead V8 features 24-bolt cylinder heads stamped 8RT, which corresponds to a truck engine built between 1948 and 1953. It was installed under previous ownership using an Awesome Henry V8 conversion kit and utilizes a 12-volt electrical system with a generator. A rebuild of the carburetor was performed in March 2022 along with an oil change. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
An Awesome Henry V8 chassis tag was riveted to the frame under previous ownership.
