This 1951 Ford 8N tractor was acquired by the seller in 2014 and is finished in gray and red. The tractor was refurbished and modified under prior ownership with a 239ci flathead V8 and a Sherman auxiliary transmission linked to a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a grille guard, a spring-mounted seat, a rear power take-off, and a three-point hitch. This 8N tractor is now offered at no reserve in Massachusetts with a bill of sale.
The engine cover and fenders were repainted gray with red Ford script during previous ownership, while the frame, drivetrain, suspension, and wheel hubs have been refinished in red. Features include a grille guard, a cowl extension panel, rear fenders, running boards, and dual exhaust outlets.
The six-bolt front and eight-bolt rear wheels are finished in gray and are wrapped in Goodyear tires. Stopping power is provided by independent rear drum brakes.
The black steel seat is mounted on a single flat spring and features four vents and three drains. Controls consist of a hand throttle behind the steering wheel, a clutch pedal on the left, and twin brake levers on the right. The shift lever and starter button are mounted on top of the transmission case.
The three-spoke steering wheel features hub-mounted instructions for the Sherman auxiliary transmission and sits ahead of an ammeter and an oil pressure gauge as well as a “Proofmeter” combined tachometer and speedometer. The hour meter shows 1,358 hours of runtime, though total chassis hours are unknown.
The Ford flathead V8 was installed under prior ownership reportedly using a kit from Awesome Henry V8 Ford Tractor Conversions. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Sherman Step-Up/Step-Down combination transmission. The oil was changed in 2021.
A hydraulically lifted three-point hitch assembly with a drawbar is mounted out back along with a PTO shaft.
