This 1959 Porsche-Diesel Super 308 tractor was acquired by the seller’s father-in-law approximately 27 years ago and was subsequently refurbished. The tractor is powered by a 2,467cc three-cylinder diesel mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a rear portal axle. Equipment includes a front tow hitch, a rear hydraulically-lifted three-point hitch, one front and two rear power take-off shafts, headlights and taillights, and a fender-mounted jump seat. This Porsche-Diesel tractor is now offered at no reserve in Washington with a Taylor Pittsburgh rear blade, rear tire chains, spare parts, a service manual and workshop manual, manufacturer’s and informational literature, historical photos, and a bill of sale.
The Porsche-Diesel Super 308 tractor was produced from 1957 to 1963, and this example is finished in red and has been repainted. Features include a rear-hinged hood, a black-finished exhaust stack, Porsche-Diesel badging, rear half fenders, headlights and taillights, and marker lights. A blemish on the left fender is pictured in the gallery.
White-painted wheels wear 7.50-20″ BKT TF-8181 tires up front and 380/85-30″ Continental Contract AC85 tires out back. Corrosion is noted on the wheels.
The black-finished steel seat is covered with a removable tan and black cushion, while a wooden jump seat is mounted on the left fender. Controls consist of a throttle, a transmission shifter, a rear power take-off lever, and brake pedals.
A four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of an instrument panel that houses a 60-km/h speedometer, an engine-temperature gauge, ignition and starter controls, a headlight switch, and warning lights. The five-digit odometer shows 8k kilometers (~5k miles), while the hour meter reads 534 operating hours.
The air-cooled 2,467cc three-cylinder diesel was rated at 38 horsepower, and power is sent to the rear portal axle via a five-speed manual transmission.
The tractor is equipped with front and dual rear power take-off shafts, a front tow hitch, and a hydraulically-lifted three-point hitch with a top link and stabilizer chains.
The chassis tag shows the model, serial number, year of manufacture, and engine displacement.
A Taylor Pittsburgh rear scraper attachment accompanies the tractor along with a set of rear tire chains.
A service manual, workshop manual, manufacturer’s and informational literature, spare parts, and historical photos are also included.
