This 2013 BRE Aerovault Mk I is an extended-length, standard-height trailer which features a semi-monocoque chassis composed of 10-gauge aluminum sheet metal attached to 2″x3″ rectangular tubing. The trailer rides on four 15″ wheels shod with Goodyear tires and is equipped with electric drum brakes as well as self-lubricating torsion axles. Additional features include a Warn winch and aluminum ramps for loading vehicles, internal storage shelves, a house battery, and a trickle charger. The seller acquired the trailer new in 2013 and has since towed it approximately 4k miles on trips from Los Altos, California to Laguna Seca and Sonoma Raceway. This Aerovault is offered with a 1.5-ton floor jack and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The Aerovault is a streamlined car trailer designed by Brock Racing Enterprises and built by Heartland Trailers of British Columbia. This example is a standard-roof, extended-length L version and was reportedly the final all-aluminum Mk I model produced. The main body measures approximately 18′ 8″ long, 6′ high, and 8′ wide, while the seller states that the total length including the skirt covering the tailgate hinge is approximately 22′ 7″.
The trailer is equipped with 21″x35″ doors with shelves on either side of the front end as well as a drop-down tailgate with loading ramps. A Warn XT30 winch with a roller fairlead, braided cable, and wireless remote is used to move vehicles into the cargo area. An additional switch for the winch is located on the main control panel. Corrosion is visible on the jack and tongue.
Aluminum 15″ wheels are shod with eight-ply Goodyear Marathon trailer tires showing 2012 date codes, covers for which are included in the sale. A spare tire is located inside the trailer. All four wheels are mounted over electric drum brakes, and the suspension consists of twin 3,500-lb. rubber-ride Torsion Flex self-lubricating axles. The wheel bearings were repacked by Orlandi Trailer in San Jose, California in 2016.
The interior measures approximately 80″ wide between the wheel wells, and the L model is 198″ from the tailgate to the front door hinges and 222″ from the tailgate to the front of the trailer. The body is fitted with LED spot lights and taillamps.
The curved front end houses a storage shelf, the winch and associated controls, and tie-downs as well as electrical components such as a house battery, a CTEK trickle charger, and power outlets that can be connected to an extension cord. The nose is said to be able to accommodate up to eight tires and wheels.
