This 1967 Saab SaabO 12′ travel trailer is one of approximately 438 built and was acquired by the seller in 2020 following a reported refurbishment under prior ownership. The trailer is finished in white and brown and is outfitted with a twin mattress, a dinette that converts to a sleeping surface, and a kitchenette. Amenities include a heater, a sink, a cooktop, a ceiling vent, and an AM/FM cassette stereo, while additional equipment consists of stabilizer jacks, a propane tank, and a tongue jack. This SaabO travel trailer is offered at no reserve with a fitted cover, an awning, accessories, memorabilia, and Massachusetts registration in the seller’s name.
Saab produced SaabO travel trailers from 1964 through 1968, and the lightweight design was promoted as being suitable for modest-horsepower tow vehicles. The fiberglass body of this example is said to have been refinished in white and brown under prior ownership, and features include a split entry door, a removable entry screen, four windows, wheel arch skirts, and Saab-branded mud flaps. A propane tank is mounted on the tongue under an enclosure. The fiberglass is cracked at the top of the door frame, a trim end piece is missing beside the door frame, and the paint is chipped on the propane tank enclosure. The front window is fogged.
White-painted 8″ steel wheels are fitted with bright hub covers and wear 5.70-8″ Load Star tires, while a spare is located in an interior storage compartment. Stopping power is from drum brakes. Rust is visible on the wheels.
The dinette features a bench seat upholstered in blue cloth, a laminate tabletop, overhead storage, curtains, a pendant lamp, and a Kienzle analog clock. The bench seat can be folded down to form a sleeping surface, while an adjacent sleeping area is outfitted with a twin-size mattress, a shelf, a wardrobe, and under-bed storage.
The kitchenette is equipped with a white countertop, a two-burner propane cooktop, a sink, under-counter drawers and storage cabinets, and a foam-lined ice box with a hinged lid. House equipment includes a floor-mounted heating radiator, a ceiling vent, and an AM/FM cassette stereo with two speakers.
Rust is visible on the underside components, and additional photos can be viewed in the gallery below.
A fitted cover will accompany the trailer along with a tan canvas awning, accessories, memorabilia, and a towing wiring harness.
The VIN stamp is not clearly visible on the chassis or on the chassis tag, and a seller-supplied image of the stamp is pictured above. A redacted Massachusetts Proof of Visual Inspection form along with additional photos of the VIN stamp and chassis tag can be viewed in the image gallery.
This trailer does not have a title, as Massachusetts does not issue titles for trailers of its weight class. It is being sold on its Massachusetts registration, which lists VIN 260.
