This 1966 Lamborghini 1R tractor was refurbished in 2018 by marque specialist Nicola Formilan of Garage 961 in Italy, including being media blasted and repainted in a factory orange and blue paint scheme. The gauges were also rebuilt, new tires and tubes were fitted, and the fuel-delivery system was gone through as outlined below. The tractor was imported to the US by the selling dealer in 2019 and is equipped with a rear portal axle and dual PTO outputs. Power is provided by an air-cooled diesel two-cylinder engine, which is paired with a 3-speed dual-range transmission. This Lamborghini tractor is now offered on a bill of sale in Georgia with import paperwork and documentation from Mr. Formilan.
The tractor was disassembled and media blasted last year before being repainted in factory colors. The bodywork and wheels are finished in orange, while the engine, transmission, suspension components, and wheel hubs are painted a contrasting blue. The seller notes that Nicola Formalin is endorsed by the Lamborghini Museum, and he appears with Feruccio Lamborghini’s son Tonino in this video about the marque’s tractors.
Storage lockers are present on the inside of the rear fenders, and the sprung operator’s seat features Lamborghini script as shown up close in the gallery. New Speedways tires were mounted during the refurbishment and measure 5.00-15 up front and 9.5-24 out back. New inner tubes were also added, and the tractor is equipped with stacked dual PTOs exiting from the rear of the differential.
An oil pressure gauge and reverse-sweep tachometer with integrated hour meter are mounted in the aluminum instrument panel fascia. The gauges were rebuilt last year, and a new factory-style wiring loom was made. 854 hours are shown on the four-digit hour gauge, and per the seller the tractor has about four hours of runtime since the refresh was completed.
The air-cooled OHV two-cylinder diesel was factory rated at 26 horsepower and is equipped with Bosch fuel injection. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 3-speed dual-range transmission and a portal axle. The restoration checklist provided from Nicola Formilan notes that the tractor received new engine oil seals, a rebuilt injection pump, a rebuilt dynamo, rebuilt injectors, and more.
The chassis tag is pictured above, and an included letter from Nicola Formilan indicates that this tractor was built between July and December 1966.
Photos of the refurbishment process are provided, including images of the chassis and driveline assembly and individual pieces of hardware, trim, and fasteners.
A document from Mr. Formilan listing the work he performed is attached. Importation and EPA documentation from the tractor’s entry to the United States can be seen in the gallery below.
