This 1958 Porsche-Diesel Super 308 L tractor underwent a refurbishment before the owner purchased it in January 2024. Work is said to have included a repaint as well as a mechanical overhaul. The tractor is finished in red and powered by a 2,467cc three-cylinder diesel paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes rear portal axles, front and rear power take-off shafts, headlights and taillights, a passenger seat mounted on the left fender, and a three-point hitch. This Porsche-Diesel tractor is now offered by the selling dealer in Pennsylvania with a Sheffield Sportlume QL1 watch and a bill of sale.
Porsche-Diesel introduced the Super 308 tractor in 1957, and it remained in production until 1963. This long-wheelbase example was repainted in red under prior ownership, and it was raced at the 2023 Rennsport Reunion at Leguna Seca in Monterey, California by Porsche Penske driver Nick Tandy. Features include a rear-hinged hood, a low-exit exhaust, Porsche-Diesel badging, headlights and taillights, rear half fenders, marker lights, and front and rear PTO output shafts.
Beige-painted six-lug wheels wear 14.9-24″ Akuret R-1 rear agricultural tires and 20″ front rubber. Stopping power is from independent rear drum brakes.
The spring-suspended operator’s seat wears a beige vinyl cover with red piping, while a jump seat is mounted on the left fender. Controls consist of a throttle, a transmission shifter, a rear power take-off lever, and brake pedals.
A four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of an instrument panel that houses an engine-temperature gauge, ignition and starter controls, a headlight switch, and warning lights. The five-digit hour meter has a minute hand and shows 2,800 hours.
The air-cooled 2,467cc three-cylinder diesel is equipped with Bosch mechanical fuel injection and is said to have been overhauled under prior ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and portal axles.
