1957 Allis-Chalmers WD45 Tractor

This 1957 Allis-Chalmers WD45 tractor was acquired by the selling dealer in 2022 and is said to have been refurbished under prior ownership. The tractor has been refinished in orange with blue wheels, and power is from a gasoline-fueled 226ci inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a silver exhaust stack, headlights, rear half fenders, a side-mounted belt pulley, a pin hitch, and a rear power take-off. The battery was replaced in preparation for the sale. This Model WD45 is now offered at no reserve by the selling dealer in Illinois with a bill of sale.

The model WD45 tractor was introduced in 1953 and succeeded the WD model, and it remained in production until 1957. The body and running gear of this example were repainted orange under prior ownership, and details include a mesh grille, a silver exhaust stack, headlights, rear half fenders, and Allis-Chalmers graphics.

The steel wheels have been refinished in blue and are mounted with Goodyear rear agricultural tires along with three-rib front tires. Braking is handled by independent rear drums. Overspray is visible on the tires.

The operator’s station features a body-color steel seat suspended on a spring. Controls include a hand throttle, a transmission clutch lever, a foot pedal for the engine clutch, a shifter, and dual pedals for the individual rear brakes.

The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a body-color dash panel that houses an ammeter. The tractor is not equipped with an hour meter, therefore total runtime is unknown.

The gasoline-fueled 226ci inline-four sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Work in preparation for the sale reportedly included servicing the carburetor and replacing the battery. The seller notes leaks from the drivetrain.
