This 1956 Allgaier AP22 tractor is said to have been refurbished under previous ownership in Italy in the 2010s before it was acquired by the seller approximately three years ago. The tractor is finished in red with cream wheels, and power comes from an air-cooled, 1.5-liter Porsche-diesel twin paired with a five-speed manual transmission with a dogleg first gear. Equipment includes headlights and taillights, a rear power take-off, a hydraulically actuated three-point rear hitch, and a fender-mounted bench. This AP22 is now offered at no reserve in California on a bill of sale.
Allgaier manufactured tractors under license from Porsche until the license was purchased by Mannesmann AG in the late 1950s. The “AP” designation stands for Allgaier-Porsche, and this AP22 was refinished in red under previous ownership. Features include Porsche and Allgaier badging, headlights and taillights, a rear rotating warning light, a rear power take-off, and a hydraulically actuated three-point rear hitch.
The beige-painted steel wheels wear 11.2×28″ Alliance tires out back and 4.50-16″ Kleber tires up front.
The driver is provided with a sprung steel seat finished in red. A wood-bottom bench is mounted on the left-rear fender.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a dash panel as well as hand and foot controls. Instrumentation includes oil pressure and temperature gauges as well as warning lights. Total engine hours are unknown.
