This 1949 McCormick Farmall Cub tractor was refurbished under prior ownership and acquired by the seller in 2022. The tractor is finished in red with a matching steel seat, and power comes from a gasoline-fueled 59.5ci inline-four paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Features include headlights, a rear work light, an exhaust stack, and rear half fenders. This Farmall Cub is now offered at no reserve in Monterey, California, with service records, shop manuals, spare parts, a blade, a padded seat cover, and a bill of sale.
The Farmall Cub was produced by International Harvester from 1947 to 1979 and marketed under the McCormick-Deering, McCormick, Farmall, and International nameplates. This example was refinished in red with factory-style graphics under prior ownership, and features include a mesh grille, headlights, a rear work light, a silver-finished exhaust stack, and rear half fenders.
Red-finished steel wheels with silver rims are mounted with 4.00-12″ American Farmer tires in front and a mixed set of 9.5-24″ tires out back. The front wheels can be reversed for a wider track. Cracks are visible in the tires.
The operator’s station features a spring-suspension steel seat finished in red with along with brake pedals, a shifter, and a hand-controlled throttle. The tractor is equipped with an electric starter.
The Cub features a “Culti-Vision” seating position, which offsets the operator from the driveline to afford better forward and downward visibility. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts an ammeter as well as ignition and starter controls. A master disconnect switch is mounted on the floorboard. The tractor is not equipped with an hour meter, therefore total runtime is unknown.
The gasoline-fueled 59.5ci inline-four was factory rated at approximately nine horsepower, which is routed to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission and a portal axle.
The tractor is equipped with a rear power take-off shaft as well as an adjustable a ball hitch.
Shop manuals will accompany the tractor along with service records, spare parts, a padded seat cover, a blade, and refurbishment photos.
