This 1949 Ford 8N tractor was acquired by the seller’s wife on BaT in July 2022 and underwent a refurbishment under previous ownership that included a repaint in gray with red accents. The gasoline-powered 120ci L-head inline-four was also overhauled at that time, and additional work included a refresh of the steering, electrical, and braking systems as well as the replacement of the tires, headlights, and gauges. Features include a four-speed manual transmission, a 12-volt electrical system, an alternator, and a grille guard in addition to a rear power take-off, taillights, and a three-point hitch with a draw bar. This 8N tractor is now offered at no reserve in Kansas with a parts manual, service manuals, refurbishment records, and a bill of sale.
The engine cover and fenders were repainted gray with red Ford script under previous ownership while the frame, drivetrain, suspension, and wheel hubs were refinished in red. Equipment includes replacement dual headlights, a grille guard with a tow ball, a rear power take-off, running boards, and a three-point hitch with a draw-bar and tow ball. The drag link assemblies and lower lift arms have been replaced.
Six-bolt front and eight-bolt rear wheels have been refinished in gray and are mounted with ribbed tires up front and 11.2-28 Harvest King Field Pro All Purpose tires at the rear. Braking is handled by independent rear drums that were refreshed under prior ownership. The front axle center support pin, steering box bearings, and front wheel bearings were also reportedly replaced during the refurbishment.
The replacement spring-mounted seat is finished in gloss black. Controls consist of a hand throttle behind the steering wheel, a clutch by the left foot, and twin levers for the independent brakes on the right. The shift lever sits next to the starter button atop the transmission case.
A replacement three-spoke steering wheel frames replacement ammeter and oil pressure gauges. No additional instrumentation is present, therefore total mileage is unknown. The ignition switch, keys, and wiring are said to have been replaced under previous ownership.
The gasoline-powered 120ci inline-four was overhauled during the refurbishment with replacement cylinder sleeves, pistons, bearings, rods, valves, valve springs, gaskets, and ignition components. The updraft carburetor was also overhauled at that time, and the fuel lines, starter solenoid, exhaust, and 12-volt battery were replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
Shop manuals, a parts catalog, spare paint, and refurbishment receipts are included in the sale.
The tractor does not have a title and is being sold on a bill of sale only.
