This 1949 Farmall Cub is a refurbished tractor which the seller purchased from the widow of the previous owner in early 2018. The Cub was produced for 34 years and featured an offset “Culti-Vision” drivetrain for improved operator visibility. This example is powered by a 59.5ci inline-four paired with a 3-speed manual transmission, and the seller fitted a new carburetor in April 2018. This Cub is located in Connecticut and offered with a bill of sale.
The tractor has been repainted in period Harvester red with Farmall graphics and contrasting silver rear wheels. The front wheels can be reversed for a wider track, and wheel weights are fitted front and rear. The rear light is not present and the headlights are not working per the seller. The tractor was reportedly purchased in its present refurbished condition by the previous owner prior to its recent acquisition by the seller.
The Cub features “Culti-Vision,” which offsets the operator from the driveline to afford better forward and downward visibility. Instrumentation consists of a voltmeter and an oil pressure gauge, both of which can be seen working in the video below. The tractor is also equipped with an electric starter. Anti-slip tape is affixed to the floor.
The 59.5ci four was rated to produce 11 horsepower and is paired with a 3-speed manual transmission. Since purchasing the tractor the seller has replaced the carburetor, though its earlier history is unknown.
A flat belt drive is affixed to the primary Power Take Off (PTO) output, and a tow bar is present along with a 6-volt battery.
Serial number 59527 indicates that this tractor was produced in early 1949.
