This 1948 McCormick Farmall Cub tractor was refurbished under prior ownership and acquired by the seller about 15 years ago. The tractor is finished in red, and power comes from a gasoline-fueled 59.5ci inline-four paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Features include a black seat pad in an offset driving position, an exhaust stack, headlights, and rear half fenders. This Farmall Cub is now offered at no reserve in Long Grove, Iowa, with a bill of sale.
The Farmall Cub was produced by International Harvester from 1947 to 1979 and marketed under the McCormick-Deering, McCormick, Farmall, and International nameplates. This example was refinished in red with factory-style decals under prior ownership, and features include a mesh grille, headlights, a silver-finished exhaust stack, and rear half fenders. The rear work light is inoperative.
The red-finished front steel wheels are mounted with 4.00-12″ Firestone tires, while rear wheels are wrapped in 9.5-24″ Harvest King L/L All Purpose Tractor tires.
The operator’s station features a spring-suspension steel seat finished in red with a black seat pad. Controls include a shifter, a hand-controlled throttle, and dual brake pedals.
The Cub features “Culti-Vision,” which offsets the operator from the driveline to afford better forward and downward visibility. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts an ammeter as well as ignition and starter controls. The tractor is not equipped with an hour meter, and total runtime is unknown.
The 59.5ci inline-four was factory rated at approximately nine horsepower and features an electric starter motor. The engine oil was changed in 2023.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission and a portal axle. The seller notes that the rear power take-off does not work.
