1947 Kit Kamper Travel Trailer

This 1947 Kit Kamper is a teardrop-style travel trailer with a single axle and 16″ wheels. The trailer is finished in green and white and features a vinyl accent panel on the top, two entry doors, an exterior kitchenette, a single-wheel tongue jack, and interior floorspace measuring 4’x8′. The camper was acquired by the selling dealer in 2021, and subsequent work reportedly included repainting the wheels and the tongue.  This Kit Kamper is now offered at no reserve in Cornelius, Oregon with a Washington Certificate of Ownership.

Kit Manufacturing was founded in 1945 in California and introduced their first model, the Kit Kamper, in 1946. This example features an aluminum shell finished in green and white with a color-coordinated vinyl accent panel fitted to the top. Features include two entry doors with windows, brake lights, and a license plate light. The body is dented behind the tongue, the paint is scratched on the left fender, and fasteners are missing from the trim panels.

Steel 16″ wheels are wrapped in a mixed set of 5.00-16 tires, and the single-wheel Atwood tongue jack is fitted with a hand crank and a four-wire trailering harness. The tongue and wheels are said to have been repainted during current ownership.

The exterior kitchenette is situated at the rear of the trailer and is accessed by a liftgate. Amenities include aluminum surfaces, overhead lighting, a two-burner propane stove, an icebox, a storage compartment, and a propane bottle. The seller notes that the stove does not work and is in need of an older-style propane fitting.

The interior features curved walls covered in red striped cloth along with a carpeted floor measuring 4’x8′. A storage shelf is positioned across the rear wall.
